The vision behind our name is found in the story about the woman at the well. In this story, we see the woman collecting water from Jacob's Well, when Jesus asks her for a drink of water. After a dialogue filled with hesitation, she provides water for Jesus to drink. He tells her in John 4:13-14 "Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

 

In an impressive display of ministry, Jesus teaches the woman, and in turn us, something extraordinary about what He is offering. The human body needs water to survive, but it is not water that gives eternal life and salvation, it is Jesus. The water Jesus is offering is eternal life and a restored relationship between us and God. At The Well Youth, we are passionate about experiencing the living water that Jesus offers us, and never thirsting again.
